Abstract

Makassar city development is directed to realize the vision of Makassar as Maritime City, Commerce, Education, Culture, and Global Services oriented, and Most Environmental Friendly. Makassar City has always been taking a much larger role than his current role, namely as a center of eastern Indonesia (KTI). Makassar city's role as a symbol of "Gateway to Eastern Indonesia" politically and interests, bringing a significant influence on the future development of the city of Makassar who want to develop themselves into "Indonesian Living". Its vital role and functions held, demanding to be able to facilitate Makassar surrounding areas (South Sulawesi, Sulawesi, East Indonesia) in various aspects related to the growth of the region. Needed public facilities, infrastructure, and infrastructure services to a very wide scale in order to serve the surrounding region. One of the common facilities that the current trend is the need for facilities and sports centers. The Fact, football achievements in Makassar look very advanced. Of course, this development can not be separated from the importance of the completeness of the supporting infrastructure facilities are there. In this case, the football stadium become a facility that must be considered for the progress, because the presence of the stadium became one of the attractions of football in the country. Makassar city has a football stadium, Andi Mattalatta stadium. However, Andi Mattalatta Stadium was very old and difficult to developed to accommodate the sport activities, especially football. It required a new stadium as an alternative venue sporting event than a Andi Mattalatta stadium.
