Abstract

Bunaken islands is an archipelago of three islands, that is Bunaken Island, Manado Tua island and Siladen island. The three island included in administrative area of ?Manado city. Manado city as Eko Wisata city have a very broad a sea resource. And conservation areas, Bunaken National Park is biggest potential from Manado City in Bunaken Islands. Bunaken National Park area consists of marine and coastal ecosystems, which inside there are mangrove forests, coral and seagrass beds. From three potential, coral have a special attention as a Bunaken National Park. Location of spread there is around the Bunaken island. Almost dive spots become a routine place diver from activists and researchers, scatter around of Bunaken Island. Therefore, this is need a place for doing research activities and specific coral to researchers and students, with the goal to help preserve coral in Bunaken Island. CORAL RESEARCH CENTER is a place to resolve problem in marine ecosystem (polyps) or commonly called coral. ZONING CONCEPT : Mass concept more than one or many masses, relations form mass follow the function contained in the research center. Mass of building have own function. Mass building also interconnected, direct and indirect relations. Zone mass pattern in site plan is centered pattern. manager facility is a center of all activities in every mass function. Where all activities, that is researching activities and other supporting activities, before and after each activity will centered to manager facility have function as controller all activities in research center. Main facilities, Service, Support, Managers, Accomodation CONCEPT OF DESIGN : Mass of shape adopted from waves and two species that is animal and marine plant. Waves have the characteristic curved when the sea wind pressure. Curve line not only create the shape of facade, but in terms of function curve of shape can divert of flow wind pressure.Irregular coral shape reflect every form of mass that not same. And the triangle is facade concept that firmly on each side of the mass building . CONCLUSION : Coral have a role very important for the survival of marine life. Thousands of species underwater life dependent to coral. Bunaken Island is one of underwater paradise for all species. There is Project of Coral Research Center, ecosystems in Bunaken Island will be maintained from extinction. Room facilities complete with accommodation, as well as comfortable circulation, expected there will be more activists marine come to research center for conserve whole ecosystems of coral in Bunaken Island.
