Abstract

The Idea Behind Designing Resort Hotel in Baturraden Tourist Area Located on the slopes of Slamet mountain Baturraden offers plenty of natural beauty such as fresh mountain air, the beauty of tropical forest, coolness of wellspring and also relaxing environment of mountain area. That natural beauty of Baturraden promote Baturraden known as tourist area. As an tourist area Baturraden must be supported with an proper tour facilities. One of required tour facilities is a resort hotel as an stay facilities. Transformation Design The initial idea is to design a resort hotel that answer public (tourist) needs as an stay facilities. Resort hotel can help travelers relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Baturraden tourist area. Entrance area is located in a strategic place close to the main highway. Provide cozy cottage rooms, restaurant, SPA area, main swimming pool, art shop and gallery and lobby area that adopt local wisdom in design and building material. Present the impression natural beauty and comfort of tropical forest with fruits and flower trees in the garden landscape, also the coolness of Baturraden wellspring at some pond. Using natural material that environmental friendly also maximizes natural air flow and daylight. Using an overview of traditional Javanese architecture for the buildings form. Final Design Resort hotel’s site is divided into 3 privacy space. First is public area, consist of entrance, lobby and parking area. Second is semi public space, consist of restaurant, SPA area, play ground, garden and ponds area. Third is private area, consist of office building, service and operational room and cottage rooms. Placed in contour site, resort hotel consist of many buildings that connected with artificial garden landscaping. Lobby, restaurant, main swimming pool, SPA area and cottage rooms placed face the natural beauty of Baturraden tropical forest and also Purwokerto light night city. The buildings facade show an overview of traditional Javanese architecture, provide difable parking area and using rainwater recycling. Resort hotel are designed with all the support facilities to help travelers relax and enjoy the natural beauty and also the culture of Baturraden tourist area.
