N2  - Yogyakarta is known as the city of education. This makes the city of Yogyakarta became one of the goals for the college from all over Indonesia. Education is one of the principal in the vision and mission of the city of Yogyakarta. Immigrant students from outside the region would require for their residential stay during his education. Based on the data, the last few years an increase in immigrants who went to Yogyakarta by 10 percent. therefore it makes me want to design a dormitory as a provider of student housing for migrants from outside the city. Transformation Design : The concepts that I use is the use of shared space and also the application of system-middle rise buildings. In addition to meet the shortage of housing quota for immigrant students this concept is based on issues of disharmony between the student boarder communities in the surrounding environment that occurred lately. Expected with the concept of closeness shared space and space utilization can create a space that is able to bring together students who live in student dormitories with surrounding communities so as to create a harmonious environment. Final Design: Site selected site is located close to the campus environment, in addition to the selected use of middle-rise buildings to accommodate students in large quantities due to limited site. Certainly with respect to the utility and space requirements for the occupants in them such as the dining room, bathroom, bedroom, study room, prayer room, and other spaces to support the daily needs of students. Conclusion : Finally this dormitory to accommodate the housing needs of the students in Yogyakarta and also design occupancy with consideration of the complex issues of culture occupied the city of Yogyakarta. Occupancy so as to create a harmonious environment between students and the surrounding community.
