%X Initial Idea to Design of Public Library Buildings at City of Rantepao  The need for a information retrieval is a very important thing in the development of today's society. Difficulty of finding appropriate resources and easily be things that are often experienced by people, especially today's urban society. Library, as a means of information is a facility that must exist in the city. Rantepao in North Toraja Regency, currently does not have a decent library and adequate for its people. Current library situation was not adequate. Therefore, the need for a library building good and worthy to be very important in the development of the city rantepao today. Transformation Design-  The transformation design derived from the initial idea that the library as a place that can give the impression of special user, the environment, and want to be able to attract visitors and interested in coming to the library. Concept to be applied in this library is the library that became a community gathering place and socializing, so it can also increase people's interest. Final Design- In the final design stage, the main concept for the library is the library as a place to interact and arranged in such a way that it is able to provide something that makes visitors feel welcome. On the concept of design to transform building facades carved Toraja (element massif) as aesthetics on the facade of the building itself, so that the appearance of the building has a modern yet simple impression. All this makes the concept of the library has something unique and become a desirable place to visit. Conclusion- The initial purpose designing a Public Library Buildings in North Toraja Regency is to create a new public building with a good place for people to learn, interact, socialize society. The library is also expected to be a generator in good spatial planning and have a building that can bring people to the knowledge and information.
